Just listened to the podcast guys..... loved it as always.....
God the way you started the show, was soooo difficult to listen to ( but oh so fun for regular listeners - well some of us maybe ).... I couldn't help but think what a newcomer would think of the podcast / you guys, if this were their first one ( made me crack up a bit ).... .....
On the Invitational front.... I couldn't help but think that "Cube' needs to be one of the formats ( when it was being discussed a while back ). I am happy to provide a "pod" of cards for it ( providing it happens later in the year + it's an excuse for me to come along.... even if I am not qualified ).
Out of here.... _________________ Only wish I had more time to play..... seeing the PTQ was my last tourney.... |

| have you got power etc dion? i feel like some kind of power is essential to an excellent (as opposed to a really good) cube. sam's was pretty fun but was missing a couple essential cards i think. maybe basam or stu or someone else with power should get on it... (or we could allow proxies for power?) |

In regards to any Invitational if its going to be a fun format I think just have it in someones house and have a bbq. I really dont think even if serious formats were played (combo draft and type 2/extended is what I would prefer) that it would be much of a spectator event.
A lot of people (myself included) don't bother watching the Pro Tour coverage who is really going too want to watch a bunch of Brisbane peeps slinging cards. Stu's expereince with what happened in NZ sounds pretty accurate'
Sorry to be negative I just dont think the invitational is really that interesting for anyone not invited. |

Oh I agree completely, hardly anyone is going to show up just to watch. I think there needs to be other events on the day, I dunno like a $1000 type 2 tournament or something. That way people are there for a reason, and get to watch the invitational between rounds. _________________ Support Paper-Gamer.com

I kinda agree with you BLM, unless it is set up with other events happening on the same day ( a big standard event, drafts... that sort of thing ), then other people are not really likely to go. ( EDIT - Levi beat me to this.... )
Dave, no power in it ( way out of my budget ).... It is probably somewhat similar to Sam's or most "Cubes" for that matter.... just minus power and original dual-lands. I can post a list of it, if people are interested. _________________ Only wish I had more time to play..... seeing the PTQ was my last tourney.... |

Ok. I was just worried that people were getting too excited but seems everyones expectations are realistic.
I would like Draft then Constructed. I would prefer extended but I think type 2 may be better as people would be more interested in the deck lists (as its only around PTQ time people care about extended. |

I think it might be nice to elect a "panel" or something, and have those people sit down and work out the details of eligibility, and planning the event etc. Does this sound like a good idea? _________________ Support Paper-Gamer.com
